Scallop Scraps & Rub Ons

Hi and happy Sunday ~

It's lovely and sunny in Canberra today so we're heading off outdoors shortly. Just thought I'd quickly show you what I put together this morning using a few dsp and ribbon scraps. Pics aren't the best unfortunately as these cards look so much better irl.

I had a few odd envelopes lying around so made these cards to fit - 20cm x 8cm. I ruled the white outline using a Prisma Pencil, because my gel pen didn't want to play today :o) I think I'll use pencil from now on, it was much smoother and easier.

Supplies used:
Kraft c/s, Round Scallop Punch - October Afternoon dsp scraps, misc ribbon scraps, Little Leaves BS die - Old Olive c/s, Chit Chat Rub Ons, Jumbo brads, Dimensionals.

Just Add...Fabric - JAI#32

Hey & happy Friday ~

This week over at Just Add Ink we've added Fabric. I was really excited about this challenge and had lots of great ideas about what I was going to do ... the rules for the DT are to use current SU! items, unless SU! doesn't actually sell them. So back to my excitement ... can I tell you none of my fabulous fabric ideas worked the way I wanted them to. Hate when that happens.

So this is what I ended up submitting. Once again the weather in Canberra has been pretty dull and overcast therefore making my limited photography skills more difficult.

Some Choc and Vanilla funky felt flowers cut with my BS circles #2 die, layered on Choc Chip and Pink Pirouette c/s put through the Perfect Polka Dots BS embossing folder, some Very Vanilla Little Leaves using the BS die, a Tiny Tags sentiment punched with the Medium Jewelry Tag and finished with some Latte buttons and VV taffeta ribbon.

It's not what I was hoping for but the colours are pretty together :o) go on over to JAI and check out all the other fabulous fabric creations from the DT.

Hope you've all got a fun weekend lined up whether that's out and about or taking it easy at home. We hope to have a reasonably quiet one in our house as last weekend was a busy one. BFF came down from Brisbane for a long weekend to help celebrate Gorgeous Kid's 10th birthday. We had a terrific time together, catching up on news, eating good food, talking craft ... you get the idea lol. We even managed to fit in a couple of movies, one of which was Eclipse! Oh and Gorgeous Kid had a great weekend too!!!

Just Add...Wheels

Happy Friday ~

This weeks Just Add Ink challenge is extra special because the design team have put together projects in honour of little Hudson. If you haven't read Hudson's story go here and find out how you can help! There are some fabulous challenges, prizes and tutorial bundles available. Do pop over and say hi.

This week we've added wheels. This could be in any form, using an image with wheels, making our own wheels with punches, using a stampin' wheel....

I had gorgeous little Hudson in mind when I put together this little train of goodies :o)

Enjoy your day!

Just for Fun - JAI #29

Goodness me three posts in one day... I've had a little more time than usual lately and managed to make a really quick and easy card using the Just Add Ink colour challenge this week. It's not my week to submit an inspiration piece so I get to play for fun :o)

As you all know my pics are not good at the best of times, let alone trying to photograph Kraft properly - almost impossible. I've used my Square Punches for this one and the Little Leaves BS die, then I slathered Crystal Effects all over the leaves. My sentiment is from the Trendy Trees set and doesn't stand out as well as I'd like so I think I'll go back and clear emboss it. I used Sahara Sand ink which I find is the closest match to Kraft at the moment, although come 1 September we will have an ink to match - called Crumb Cake. Can't wait.

That's it from me for one day. Hope you enjoyed the extra pics :o)

A Few Bits and Pieces

The title says it all ... I have a few things to show you but nothing very much to write about just now. These have been piling up whilst the weather has been dull. I decided to photograph in one hit today, but they're still not great. I really seriously need to learn how to take a decent photo, or at the very least figure out a really good spot for taking them. Luckily BFF is coming down to visit in a couple of weeks, I'm sure she'll be able to give me some tips and tricks.

I made the first card above to accompany this little tote bag gift.

I saw this super CAS card on a US blog and it was really slack of me not to note it down and give credit to the person who created it - I have basically straight CASed her card because I really liked the simplicity of it. The image is coloured with copic markers. I made this card to accompany this little gift set.

These two little Lindt chocolate bars have been dressed up in a slider that I found measurements for on Petronela's Keepstamping Blog. It's a nice way to dress up a chocolate gift.

This tucked away box from PTI has lots of lollies inside. It's over dressed because it's going to a couple of little girls and I know they'll love the extra butterflies and tags and bits. Actually now that I look you can't even see the butterflies sitting on top lol.

I've got a couple of happy mail pics to show you too but I'll save those for another day soon.

Lollipop Ladies Challenge # 1

Good Monday afternoon ~

I stumbled across a new challenge site recently called The Lollipop Ladies. I love all things sweet and yummy so this lovely new blog is right up my alley. Their first challenge is to create something sweet with sprinkles .... this is the inspiration pic - yum!
And here is my sweet delight ... card base is Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Barely Banana that I've run through the crimper, along with some Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon. My cupcake icing uses Pink Pirouette ink and those 'sprinkles' are made with the Trio Flower punch, then I glossed up the cherry with lots of Crystal Effects and a little gel pen. The cupcake base uses October Afternoon dsp which is the only non SU! item on my card.

Such a shame I can't take a decent photo to save myself, it's making my card look a little dull :o(

Pop over and check out the Lollipop Ladies for some sweet and yummy fun challenges without all the calories.

Enjoy your day!

Cute Little Tote

Happy happy Saturday ~

I've been meaning to pop back and show you this for days. After seeing Jodene's lovely lot of goody bags I decided to purchase the Haute Tote template from Adela myself. Soooo many posssibilities.

My little bag contains some Body Shop treats - it's a great size for all sorts of gifts. I used Baja Breeze c/s and dsp, and some large white Brads. Notice I did my own stitching around the top, I love the look of stitching on paper projects but rarely take the time to do it. I'm going to make more effort to do that from now on. There is a matching card for this tote, but I haven't photographed it yet. The weather has a big influence on photographing projects and being the middle of winter it's often difficult, so many items go in the post without making it to the blog. Shame shame I know.

I'll tell you about the Craft Fair next time I post. Must dash...enjoy your weekend.

This one's for the bin

Happy Thursday Morning ~

Most of us probably don't share what ends up on the craft room floor...I thought I'd share one of my 'duds' with you today. I have absolutely NO idea what I was trying to achieve here. There was no plan - other than the misc dsp scrap which fit perfectly on the c/s. That was it. I pulled out a Bella and coloured her with Prismas to coordinate with the dsp. Then it all started going wrong...which tends to happen when you start by sticking the dsp down first!!! Big mistake...but I really wanted to use the dsp...as such I'm not happy with it and I'm going to trash it unless I can think of how I may salvage...
I've got something cute to share later but right now I'm off to the Canberra Quilt & Craft Fair, hoping to beat the weekend crowds! Enjoy your day :o)

You Can Help Hudson!

Happy Monday Morning ~

I am honoured to be part of a HUGE effort to raise money for Hudson's new Kid Walker. Stampin! Up demonstrators from all over the world have donated tutorials for you to purchase and all monies raised will go towards helping Hudson become mobile. Please take the time to read todays blog post then pop over to the Helping Hudson website to purchase a great tutorial bundle. There are also weekly challenges for you to participate in. These tutorials will only be available until 22 August so get in now!

Hudson is 2 ½ but unlike most children his age, he has had a tough little life! Doctors realised he had an incomplete brain before he was born and as a newborn he was discovered to be legally blind. Hudson has recently been diagnosed with both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy! His mobility has been hindered severely by his disabilities, however, his family and friends wish nothing more than to give him the chance to get moving on his own. Hudson needs a special Wheelchair/Walker called a Kid Walker. This device will help get him mobile, allow him to play with his brother and sister, interact with other children his own age and give him independence in his day to day life!

This is where the stamping world really comes into play! When a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators are asked for help they come to the rescue, ink and paper in hand to work miracles. This is what has happened around Hudson over the last few months... First with his mum’s direct team, and then spreading out across Australia and New Zealand and over in to the US, the UK and Canada! His story has touched so many people so its time to share it with you all!

There is a HUGE online stamping event taking place, called Helping Hudson - A Wheely Great Cause! The organisers have been working really hard securing support, tutorials and donations to get this event underway. There are going to be three weeks of stamping fun for you to join in – come back as often as you can, there will always be lots more to see, do and learn. It kicks off on 1 August. You’ll find all the fun events here.

When you head over to the blog you’ll find out all about Hudson, his family and his cause! But more importantly you can DO SOMETHING TO HELP HUDSON at the same time as helping yourself learn how to make some great new paper craft projects. How? By purchasing bundles of tutorials kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators the world over. Each bundle has 10 fun-filled tutorials for just AU$10! And there are six themes to choose from: Bags & Boxes, Christmas, Kids’ Birthdays, Projects for Men & Boys, Punch Art & Scrapbooking. There’s even a FREE bonus bundle if you buy four or more. WOW how exciting! All proceeds go directly to help Hudson.

The Helping Hudson Crew will also be posting some awesome challenges throughout the three weeks. For a small donation you can join in and be in the running for some FANTASTIC Stampin’ Up! prize packs, kindly donated by Stampin’ Up! Australia (Aussie participants only). Also keep your eyes peeled for challenges over at Just Add Ink and Stamp A Memory too.

We would love you to help spread the word too. Check out the ‘Spreading The Word’ page at the site for all you need to know to get the word out to as many people as you can.

C’MON LETS GET HUDSON MOVING!!!!!
