Addicted to CAS Challenge #4 - EMBOSSING

Hello there ~

I'm back from my whirlwind visit to NZ to attend my gran's funeral.  It was a rather bittersweet time ... on one hand sad to say goodbye, on the other a lovely opportunity to catch up with family members I haven't seen in many years.  I visited lots of places from my childhood and a particular highlight for me (one that I didn't think would ever happen again) was to take a walk through my dear Pa's homestead.  It is owned by a different family now, and they were kind enough to let me take a wonderful trip down memory lane.  It brought tears to my eyes ...

I'm here to show you my first Addicted to CAS card for 2013 today.  The delightful Karen is our host this fortnight and her chosen code word is EMBOSSING.

As you can see I've used both heat and dry embossing here.  I used Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit with clear embossing powder on my butterflies.

Our wonderful sponsor and guest designer this week is Beverley from Uniko Studio in the North East of the UK.  Uniko Studio specialises in surface pattern design and clear stamps.  Beverley has been kind enough to offer the gorgeous digital collection English Country Garden AS WELL as your choice of three digital paper collections!

You want to play along with us this fortnight?  Be sure to read our rules so you're in the running for the prize.  Let your imagination run wild and remember ... keep it Clean and Simple (CAS).

Addicted to Stamps - CAS Challenge #1

Wow Wednesday comes around quickly ~

Good morning!  The challenge over at Addicted to Stamps this week is 'Clean and Simple'.  I tend to do CAS more often than not so this was right up my alley.

Unfortunately I needed to make two sympathy cards last week.  I went for a nice simple 4x4" Whisper White card base and layered a 3.5x3.5" mat with my three layered flower from the Creative Elements stamp set.  I inked it up in the retired Ruby Red and added a little Champagne Shimmer Mist.  The sentiment is from PTI.

Take a look at what the ATS design team have come up with.  Lots of CAS goodness so I hope you're inspired to join the challenge this week.

I'll pop back and show you my other CAS card tomorrow.

Remaining Contents of Gift Package

Hello ~

It's turned a little chilly here in Canberra this afternoon. Once the sun starts going down you can really feel Autumn is here. Time to dig out my socks and slippers.

I'm just popping in quickly to show you the remaining cards from this post. I forgot to mention that the Crumb Cake layer on each of the cards has been stamped with Versamark using the (retired) Linen BG stamp.

Cherry Cobbler

Daffodil Delight with a Tangerine Tango sentiment (because DD didn't show up so well on the linen background)

Not Quite Navy

So there you go, all six cards from my gift package. Hope you like. Thanks for popping by today and as always thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such lovely comments - they really do make my day!

Some of the Contents

Happy Easter Monday dear friends ~

We're back from our little beach break away! What fun we had...swimming in the ocean, walks to the lake with the dog, jet skiing at Callala Bay, dinner with friends and the highlight for me...visiting the fabulous little spot that is Jindyandy. Oh my goodness there are some terrific finds...antique furniture, toys, a lolly shop and best of all...a huge well stocked craft store. I spent several hours there over the course of two days and managed to pick up a few new bits and pieces.

I did promise I'd show you the contents of my little gift package posted here. I made six cards in all, three birthday and three thanks. I'll come back tomorrow to show you the thank you cards.

Basic Black

Rich Razzleberry

Old Olive

As you can see the cards are all the same but for the colour. Base is Black, Vanilla and Crumb Cake mats popped up with Dimensionals and the wide Striped Grosgrain Ribbon threaded behind. I've layered up the flower from Creative Elements and topped each with a pearl (hard to see in these pics) and a little spritz of Champagne Shimmer Mist. The insides were finished with a Vanilla mat and the flower image.

I hope you've all had a wonderful long weekend and indulged in plenty of sweet treats. It's the only time of the year we can really get away with a chocolate breakfast, and we did just that! Such fun.

Back tomorrow!

A sneak peek

Hello!

I'm popping in briefly tonight to show you a little package of cards I recently made for a dear friend of mine. She is always so good to Gorgeous Kid and I really wanted to do something nice for her.

The cards are packaged in an acetate box and I've wrapped some of the lovely Black Satin ribbon around it, and added a Very Vanilla tag and some Hemp twine.

We're off to beautiful Culburra Beach for the long weekend. Hope the weather holds out. It has been lovely the past few days, really mild and warm.

Wishing you all a fabulous Easter, enjoy your days off and indulge in some yummy chocolate! I'll be back in a few days to show you the contents of my gift package above.

Hope Your Day is Fabulous!

Happy Saturday lovely friends ~

Yay it's the weekend. We've had a busy week, with part of it spent at the hospital following a sporting injury Gorgeous Kid had at school on Tuesday. Turns out no fracture, just a sprain with some pretty coloured bruising and lots of swelling.

I managed a little time in my craft room last night - not because I have any mojo happening at all, but because I WANTED to make something! I'm hoping it might get me in the mood to create a bit more over the coming days.

I've used the Stampin' Royalty #112 Colour Challenge. The colours are Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade. I've layered my designer papers on a base of Naturals Ivory. I couldn't decide whether I liked a portrait or landscape orientation so I did one of each. Which do you prefer?

I hope your weekend is off to a good start. Nice and sunny and warm here in Canberra so it's going to be a good day!
