JAI#50...Colour Challenge

Good Friday morning ~

It feels like forever since I've done a DT submission for Just Add Ink. I've done a couple 'just for fun' over the holidays of course. A tricky colour challenge this week and here it is...

A big thanks to Amanda for lightening it up for me - it's been very overcast once again in Canberra, and you all know I'm not good with my camera and editing gear.

It's fairly self explanatory, I used the four colours and added a little Very Vanilla - I'm sure most will agree that it's difficult to work without a neutral, although in saying that I'm sure there are those who do it without thought. I paper pieced the little presents from the retired SAB set Happy Moments using RHR & PP dsp. If you have any questions at all please leave me a comment.

Now pop on over to Just Add Ink and check out the latest...there are a few changes a happenin'. Plus of course there are some great inspiration pics from the rest of the DT. Enjoy!

Birthday Penguin

A dear little friend of ours had her 6th birthday party on the weekend. She's a crafty little thing and loves nothing more than visiting my craft room and getting busy - the grin from ear to ear is priceless.

This is the little card we gave her. Totally inspired and fairly well CASEd from this one :o)

This is my first time using the Owl punch as a Penguin - not sure I got 'her' little body the right shape but she has her party hat on so hopefully she looks the part. She's popped up on the new large Scallop punch (available in the Summer mini). I've used Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette c/s and dsp. The party balloons have been slathered with Crystal Effects and look really glossy irl.

That's it from me for now. Have a great day!

A Few Bits and Pieces

The title says it all ... I have a few things to show you but nothing very much to write about just now. These have been piling up whilst the weather has been dull. I decided to photograph in one hit today, but they're still not great. I really seriously need to learn how to take a decent photo, or at the very least figure out a really good spot for taking them. Luckily BFF is coming down to visit in a couple of weeks, I'm sure she'll be able to give me some tips and tricks.

I made the first card above to accompany this little tote bag gift.

I saw this super CAS card on a US blog and it was really slack of me not to note it down and give credit to the person who created it - I have basically straight CASed her card because I really liked the simplicity of it. The image is coloured with copic markers. I made this card to accompany this little gift set.

These two little Lindt chocolate bars have been dressed up in a slider that I found measurements for on Petronela's Keepstamping Blog. It's a nice way to dress up a chocolate gift.

This tucked away box from PTI has lots of lollies inside. It's over dressed because it's going to a couple of little girls and I know they'll love the extra butterflies and tags and bits. Actually now that I look you can't even see the butterflies sitting on top lol.

I've got a couple of happy mail pics to show you too but I'll save those for another day soon.

A Little Something to Share

Well all that excitement didn't last long did it? To be honest I've been itching to get back here, however, I've been fiddling around trying to get sidebar things sorted. I wasn't having much success until BFF came to the rescue today and made me some very simple notes. Amazing, once I had the right info it all fell into place in just a few minutes.

I'm going to try and add a couple of pics I've just taken, so you can see that I do manage to create every now and then lol. Now I haven't figured out how to 'pretty my pics up' yet, these are just point and snap so the quality may not be too good. BFF is a keen photographer and is going to share a few tips with me. So hopefully in time you'll see great improvement on my blog.

The first is a gift card holder. I've finished it off with a gorgeous little button bow, which Danielle Daws demonstrates on her blog here.

And a couple of Bookmarks, again using a technique Danielle showed us using crystal effects and re-inkers. The bookmarks are just a little something I'm going to be adding to a gift package I'm putting together for some friends. We're heading off on our own craft retreat in a few weeks, will be my very first, although the others are seasoned retreaters!

Here I think you can see the crystal effects better.

Now for the grand finale...my new signature :o)
