Jawing Birthday - Just Add Ink #188 - Just Add Grunge

Happy Saturday ~

After not getting my card up in time for the last challenge over at Just Add Ink, I decided to get in nice and early with this one.  This week we need to add 'grunge'.  I find it a little difficult to 'dirty' up my cards so I took inspiration from Nikki and did a little chalkboard technique with my cute skull guy.  You'll notice a couple of other similarities to Nikki's card - I did say I would CASE hers one day.  It's the first time I've used my snazzy new chevron border punch too - pretty cool!

It's very sunny here today and a little dull indoors so I took my card outside - I'm no photographer so you'll just have to excuse the shadows and over exposure *blush*.

My colour combo is Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral.  Now if I didn't live in Australia (where we don't traditionally celebrate) you could mistake this for a Halloween card.  I have this in mind for a cool dude turning 14 in a few weeks.

Thanks for visiting today.  Hope you're enjoying your weekend wherever in the world you are!

Just Jawing

Hi & happy Saturday ~

A beautiful bright sunny day here in Canberra, it's got a real Spring feel about it. Makes me want to get out in my long neglected garden.

I have some cards that I made with the now retired Just Jawing set which I absolutely love for boys birthday cards. Gorgeous kid has a few upcoming parties so these were made with those in mind. I used Tangerine Tango, then Wild Wasabi followed by Real Red at bottom.

I tried to create a bit of a grunge look by making my own graffiti type background using the retired Linen stamp and one of the Trendy Trees images along with the Just Jawing stars. I tore the edge of my WW c/s all the way around and put the stamp pad direct to the c/s for a bit of a messy look. I think overall they look a little haphazard and will probably suit their 10 year old recipient's.

Let me know what you think :o)

Annabelle Stamps Challenge #16

Hi there ~

I came across the ABSC016 sketch and rather than go with all the pretty girly pinks and blingy bits (that deep down I do love) I decided to do something different. I find it difficult at times to come up with male themed cards - surprising I know considering I have a son. Today I went right out of my comfort zone and chose colours I NEVER use from the Bright Bolds family. I made my own 'graffiti' background paper for this cute little Skater Boy image. I'm not entirely happy with this card, it's a bit 'green' for me lol! I really just wanted to try out some of my new copic markers.

I've used Glorious Green and Yoyo Yellow cardstock and inks. Stamps are Just Jawing and Trendy Trees.
