Hi crafty friends ~
There's a new challenge over at Just Add Ink, and Nikki has given us the lovely colour combo of
Pink Pirouette, Night of Navy and Gold to work with this week. If you haven't already noticed, I'm super fond of beautiful flower images. So sad that Stippled Blossoms has retired, however, I'll be keeping it forever.
I don't keep a lot in the way of gold in my craft stash. I really didn't want to heat emboss my leaves, so I used an ink that would give a gold-ish tone. Did it work? The glittery gold enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye - Ashbury Heights.
The design team have created some absolutely beautiful cards using this colour combo, and I really can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Head over to JAI, check out the inspiration and link up.
News with us this week....we're gearing up to put the house on the market. That means lots of sorting and packing and cleaning. Sigh. Lucky I'm not a hoarder (excluding craft items of course) and so it really isn't a huge job. Photos are being taken early next week then the 'open house' starts every weekend for a month. Not looking forward to that - living in it and keeping it presentable with toddlers and a teenager (not to mention the dog and the bunny) in tow just does my head in. Anyway it is what it is. Wish me luck!
Gorgeous Kid had his last pre expedition check this week. Everything is in order and two weeks yesterday he heads off to Borneo for what I expect will be a life changing experience.
Beautiful card Patrice. This is one stamp set that I too am keeping! Love the cluster of flowers, your touches of gold and those glittery enamel dots are awesome! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Patrice! The blossoms are so soft and pretty and love the way you've arranged them and the subtle leaves around the gorgeous 50! Such a fabulous card! Hope all goes well with the Opens with a quick and fabulous result - and the travel arrangements for GK too! xx
ReplyDeleteP the flowers are gorgeously soft and detailed and frame the fifty just perfectly. Love how the scattering of gold enamel dots carries the gold over the card too. xxx
ReplyDeleteHeeHee we both used the same flowers for this challenge and who wouldn't? They are soooo pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love that you've kept the gold mainly for the 50 as it makes it a wee bit more special :)
I can't imagine how busy you are at the moment!!
Definitely a keeper for me too! Beautifully done P, love the design and the hint of gold beneath the navy is a perfect addition..Love it! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect occasion for these challenge colours & you've used them beautifully, Patrice. So pretty & elegant....& your leaves definitely worked too, clever girl. I can't imagine how you managed to make this with so much on your mind & hands. Thinking of you all as you pack up & GK as he prepares for his big adventure too.
ReplyDeleteHugs, D
Perfect card for this milestone Birthday Patrice. I love the stamp set you have used, it's so pretty. The gold '50' looks great too. Chantell x x
ReplyDeleteBorneo seems to be the place to go at the moment. A couple of different families at school have been their for family holidays this year. Bet he is counting down the hours!! Your card is stunning and just love that flower stamp you used. The ink for the leaves is perfect and I didn't realise they weren't gold until I read your post. Good luck keeping the house tidy. This is our first house and I can't imagine selling any time soon, so can't imagine what it would be like to keep it clean for buyers. Hopefully someone will fall in love with it straight away!!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this card P! This stamp set is one of my favourites - I am like you and won't be selling this one anytime soon. These flowers were make for this challenge! ps. good luck with your packing - I don't envy you at all having to pack and unpack...
