Yay for another Friday! I'm off to my second Osteopath appointment this week for a niggly back/shoulder issue I've been hoping would heal itself for the past three weeks. Wish I hadn't left it so long :o(
Rochelle has give us an inspiration pic for the new Just Add Ink challenge. I needed a pretty cool congratulatory card for a talented young man who made it to one of the Brumbies footy junior teams a few weeks back. Hand picked he was. Didn't even try out. Clever!
I took inspiration from this card that my fellow design team friend, Di Barnes made a few months ago - it's an iPhone card! Di generously gives all the measurements in her post.
My base is Bermuda Bay c/s, with Crushed Curry, Basic Black and Whisper White as the accents. The sentiments come from various stamp sets. Soooo if you have a look at the inspiration pic below, you'll see I used slightly different shaped 'balloons' on my card.
We'd love you to join the JAI challenge this week. Choose whichever elements appeal to you and get crafty - could be colours, stripes, flags, balloons, circles...you're only limited by your imagination.
Well Gorgeous Kid is doing some fast growing up these days. He's currently off for a few days at an Outdoor Education camp, middle of nowhere, freezing weather...but I bet he's having a blast caving and abseiling etc. In a few short weeks he's heading off to Borneo, Malaysia with World Challenge Organisation for a month. I'll talk more about that closer to the day. I'm getting nervous!
Hope to see you join the challenge this week, have a fabulous weekend.
How fun is this creation, such a great card for a teen. Love that your project is such a different take on the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how nervous you're getting, but l'm sure GK will have a ball and the anxious parent mode will be worth it. Xx
Love that you used bubbles instead of balloons P - such a fun card and absolutely perfect for a young grown up person who is probably glued to their phone. The sentiments are perfect to celebrate such a momentous occaision. xxx
ReplyDeleteWow Patrice! Soo cool for a teen and I love how closely this represents the latest iPhone screen!! So clever!! The sentiments are so cool and what a fabulous achievement! xx
ReplyDeleteI love photo challenges. We don't seem to have any in our team, must ask Kim/Nikki if we can have some. Brilliant card, so modern and clean and perfect colour combo!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! It's just great for the younger members of the family who don't want flowers and butterflies. Such a wonderful idea and I love the way you've organised the colours.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool card for a young guy! Hope your shoulder problems sorts itself out soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and great reason for a card too Patrice. Love the Cell Phone look, all perfect sentiments. Chantell x x
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool card, and perfect for a teenager! Try not to stress too much about Borneo (harder said than done, I know), I am sure that Gorgeous Kid of yours is going to have the experience of a lifetime and love every minute of it :)
ReplyDeleteI love your version of the card, Patrice & I'm sure GK was encouraged by your words & thought. It's so hard dealing with this kids growing up thing. Hugs, D
