What a wet and miserable week we've had here in Canberra. More rain than we've seen in years. Perfect crafting weather I guess but I've been more inclined curl up under my heated throw rug (if you don't have one of these I highly recommend!) and put my nose in a book.
This week over at Just Add Ink we're CASEing the gorgeous and talented Nikki Spencer. CASEing a fellow design team member can be a daunting task and I have to admit to this card being my second attempt. The first was binned - mainly because I'm not one to do the vintage/distressed look often. I guess I like clean lines.
This is Nikki's original and here is my version.
I've kept the basics the same of course and added some felt flowers and leaves, embossing my bird cage before popping it up to balance my little flowers. I've used puffy paint on my bottom scallop. Hope you like - I certainly had fun making this one.
Head over to JAI to check out all the design team inspiration and then go on over to Nikki's blog and choose something to CASE for yourself and join in the Challenge fun this week.
Patrice, this is an adorable version of Nikki's card! I love the colours you've used, and the gorgeous little flowers .... oh, and the ribbon and brad. All very, very cute!!

ReplyDeleteI hope you survive the crappy weather hon, Melbournes not supposed to be much better this weekend.xxx
I love the flowers, can't master them myself. And the colours are so different. Love it. The rain you are getting this week must be a continuation of what we had in Brisbane last week, and I think I heard you were in for a whole lot more tomorrow. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIts gorgeous P :) Great contrast between the background stamping and the white embossing and I just want to reach out and touch those fabulous little felt roses! I think you will get more use of your blanket this weekend!
ReplyDeleteKim xxx
There is something so v v magical abt surgical cards Patrice and you have captured that magic well and truly. I love the non whiteness of the background. Just a fantastic all round project Patrice. ooxx
ReplyDeleteBig whoops - Lynda's comment above should read 'circular' not surgical, however, I was too quick with comment moderation and hit the button before correcting as Lynda had asked me to do. Sorry Lynda...you obviously had work on the brain late last night xox.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Patrice! Love those little flowers. Very, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Patrice. Love the colour combo you've used and those felt flowers are gorgeous. Weather in Melbourne has been totally crappy too. Too wet to go outside to get to the craft room to craft too. Even had the heater on on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful easel card and I love those little felt flowers!
ReplyDeleteLovely easel card Patrice. Your flowers are gorgeous and I love the colours you used! Narelle
ReplyDeleteI love your easel card Patrice, and the flowers are just beautiful! It is so strange to hear of you with your heated throw rug, while we are sweltering on the opposite side of the country! We are expecting temps of 39-40 until at least next Monday :( What I wouldn't give for some of your cooler weather!
ReplyDeletePatrice this is so gorgeous! I love how elegant this is...I have to try an easel card too! :) And I need a heated throw rug hehehe
