Hi there ~
I came across the ABSC016 sketch and rather than go with all the pretty girly pinks and blingy bits (that deep down I do love) I decided to do something different. I find it difficult at times to come up with male themed cards - surprising I know considering I have a son. Today I went right out of my comfort zone and chose colours I NEVER use from the Bright Bolds family. I made my own 'graffiti' background paper for this cute little Skater Boy image. I'm not entirely happy with this card, it's a bit 'green' for me lol! I really just wanted to try out some of my new copic markers.
I've used Glorious Green and Yoyo Yellow cardstock and inks. Stamps are Just Jawing and Trendy Trees.

Just Add Ink #6
Hi there ~
This week at Just Add Ink they have a sketch challenge. When the current SU! catalogue was released last April, first on my wish list was the Organic Outlines set. Suffice to say it wasn't the first set I purchased, however, I did get it early on and would you believe this is the first time it has seen ink!
Cardstock - Real Red, Very Vanilla
Ink - Basic Black, Real Red, Versamark
Other - Crystal Effects, Polka-Dot Grosgrain (reversed), Square punches, Snail, Dimensionals
Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend :o)

Typically as I picked card up to photograph I smudged an inky finger on left of card - oops. Unfortunately what you can't see is the larger Organics background image in Versamark on the Vanilla cardstock.

A Golden Anniversary
Here is a very simple card I've made for a 50th wedding anniversary. I'm really into 'less is more' these days. Sometimes you can have too much 'fluff' and not really see the card - if you know what I mean.
Using Kraft cardstock I've clear embossed using Baroque Motifs - again. I've layered Very Vanilla inside and stamped the same swirl in versamark ink. The envelope also matches - of course!

Outright CASE - love it
Hi everyone
Got lazy on Wed afternoon and didn't photograph - as you can see it's not something I'm very good at. I figure I'll use this week to get used to blogging, and maybe next week I'll look at making my pics look nicer. A number of blogs I look at have great pics so I'm going to aim a bit higher lol let's just see how that goes.
This card is a blatant CASE (copy and share everything) of Mary Fish's card. I didn't change much because I'm a huge fan of pumpkin pie, needed an excuse to crack open the brushed silver cardstock and basically why change a thing if it's great the way it is. So simple yet so effective, the perfect male card - which as most of you would agree are sometimes quite a challenge to make.

Money Gift Folder
A friend asked me recently to make a wedding card and mentioned she would be putting money inside. I decided to make her the card and a matching money gift folder. I think it looks more complete as a set! Can't show you the card as we don't want the bride to see it here first :o)
Money folder is sized to fit a larger 'note' perfectly. The belly band is the same image used on the card so the two will look good together. Baroque Motifs is the perfect set for wedding cards I think - and that's glossy white cs.

Just popping in
Nothing to show you tonight as I've quickly figured out that the only time to take pics is during daylight! So come back tomorrow and see what little creation I've come up with between now and then :o)
Notice that I'm getting a little more on my sidebar each day? I've worked out how to keep a list of my favourite blogs, and I've just added a livefeed thingie. Quite proud of myself lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Clean & Simple FTL #79
I just whipped a card up in no time for this weeks Clean & Simple sketch. Now the biggest news is that this is my very first challenge! BFF told me I must start doing a few, and as she is now doing Mojo Monday challenges I guessed I might start there. I've been looking at the Clean & Simple blog for some months now and decided to just 'do it'.
I love the little images in the Pun Fun set yet don't use them often enough. My little sheep has been embossed which gives great texture.

Tucked Away
This gorgeous little gift box is a template I purchased from Lauren Meader's My Timeless Templates some time ago. I've made stacks of these, and can I tell you they fit five Lindt balls inside perfectly :o)
I've used Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla & Bella Bleu dsp, with the cute little butterfly from the Great Friend stamp set. Because I'm more a hobby demo I use any stamp set rather than sticking to current supplies. So you'll see a few retired sets on here that I can't bear to part with.

A Little Something to Share
Well all that excitement didn't last long did it? To be honest I've been itching to get back here, however, I've been fiddling around trying to get sidebar things sorted. I wasn't having much success until BFF came to the rescue today and made me some very simple notes. Amazing, once I had the right info it all fell into place in just a few minutes.
I'm going to try and add a couple of pics I've just taken, so you can see that I do manage to create every now and then lol. Now I haven't figured out how to 'pretty my pics up' yet, these are just point and snap so the quality may not be too good. BFF is a keen photographer and is going to share a few tips with me. So hopefully in time you'll see great improvement on my blog.
The first is a gift card holder. I've finished it off with a gorgeous little button bow, which Danielle Daws demonstrates on her blog here.
And a couple of Bookmarks, again using a technique Danielle showed us using crystal effects and re-inkers. The bookmarks are just a little something I'm going to be adding to a gift package I'm putting together for some friends. We're heading off on our own craft retreat in a few weeks, will be my very first, although the others are seasoned retreaters!
Now for the grand finale...my new signature :o)

Just a tad excited!
The start of something...
Hi, and welcome to my very first blog post! Creating a blog is something I've been thinking of doing for some months now, and with the encouragement and help of my BFF I've finally done it! How exciting, I now have my very own blog! It will be a work in progress as I learn the more technical aspects of adding pics, and creating aesthetically pleasing texts and signature etc. Hopefully this won't take me too long to master :o)
Over the years I have dabbled with many handcrafts and kept coming back to papercraft. It wasn't until I found Stampin' Up! in December 2007 that I became completely hooked (I mean how easy is it that everything coordinates and matches - the hard work is done for me) and I haven't looked back since. I've turned my spare bedroom into a craft space, with custom built furniture to fit. The only problem now is that I don't have nearly enough time to actually get in there and do what I love doing!
I hope you enjoy visiting my blog from time to time, and if I'm able to inspire you with some of my work all the better!
Patrice
