Well I'm sure glad it's Friday ~

I've had a 'mare of a week with internet and email issues.  It appears to be up and running now.  I thought I'd have to go to the library or find an internet cafe just to get this post up.  Fortunately not.

Over at Just Add Ink this week, Narelle has given us a sketch to work with.  I've gone with a Pink Pirouette, Silver and Vellum combo this week.  It was a little hard to photograph with all the shine bouncing back at me lol.

I used some silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and the Celebrate Today stamp set with matching Framelits.  Love that little bow!

As most of the JAI girls are going to be away at the Stampin' Up! Create. Inspire. Share event (previously known as Convention) this current challenge will run for two weeks.  That should give you plenty of time to pull out your 'toys' and play along.  Here is the sketch for you.  Be sure to link your creation up at JAI.

The next brand new challenge will be up on Friday 8 May.  I'm sure we'll be back between now and then to share some news and a few piccies. There's always our Facebook page for the latest too.

Thank goodness it's Friday ~

I'm so looking forward to some down time this weekend.  It's been one of those weeks.  Never enough hours in the day and always something on my 'to do' list.  I keep carrying things over and it's not at all satisfying when I can't put a big line through something I'd like to have achieved.  Am I the only one who feels like this?  Please tell me I'm not!

Our new challenge over at Just Add Ink this week is to add sequins.  Yay for a bit (or a lot) of bling and fun.  My card this week was really hard to photograph, perhaps because Canberra has had some really dull weather, and also because of the window sheet on my shaker card.

I've created a girly pink card using the On Film Framelits, some window sheet (which I stamped on using StazOn) and a bunch of sweet sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I rock-n-rolled my stamps with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry inks.

There are so many things you can do with sequins, so why not join the challenge fun over at JAI this week?  If you're stuck for ideas the design team has a bunch for your inspiration.  If you fancy making a shaker card, go to google and it'll come up with a ton of tutorials to help you along.  Or feel free to contact me and I'm happy to help!

Gorgeous Kid is off at a sleepover tonight, and then off to a movie marathon with a bunch of mates Saturday night. I'm using the time as catch up.  So much to do before Convention - eeek less than two weeks until I get to see everyone and have some crafty fun with them all.  Just. Can't. Wait!

Just Add Ink #258 - Just Add a Colour Combo

Good Friday morning ~

Well it's sure been a cool week here in Canberra, you can feel snow in the air and it's still only Autumn :o(  it doesn't help that we lost daylight savings last weekend - boo.  The afternoons are getting darker so much earlier.  Brrrrr.

There's a new challenge over at Just Add Ink and this week Rochelle has given us a lovely colour combination of  'Blackberry Bliss, Smokey Slate and Melon Mambo'.  You can make so many pretties with these colours.

Lots of Whisper White layers here, with a nice splash of colour don't you think?  I used one of the double stitched circle dies from Simon Says Stamp to inlay one of my favourite designer papers from the Park Lane series.  The little double bow is made with the Cotton Ribbon.  Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I've been busily working on some swap cards for the upcoming Convention 2015 being held on the Gold Coast at the end of this month.  I just can't wait to meet up with lots of my blog friends from across Australia and New Zealand, and particularly spend five fabulous days with many of the JAI girls - we always have so much fun together.  Late nights chatting and laughing, lots of good food and of course crafty time together.  It really is a highlight for me!

Just Add Ink #257 - Just Add Inspiration

Happy Good Friday friends ~

I love a four day weekend, and the kids love it even more because this one involves lots of delicious chocolate! Hope the bunny is good to you this Easter.

Over at Just Add Ink today we have a gorgeous Inspiration Pic from Narelle to work with.

As is my usual style I've gone with a fairly simple card using Very Vanilla, Crisp Cantaloupe and Soft Suede.  The designer paper is the long retired (but still plenty in my hoard stash) Beau Chateau. The stamp set is from Clearly Besotted, and called Love Quotes.  I can't remember the brand name of the little glittery gold enamel dots, sorry.

Here is the Inspiration Pic for you to work with.  I chose my colour palette from the flowers and the little wooden box and brass vase.  I did kind of want to go with chevrons because of the way the straws are lying, but thought that may have been a stretch :o)
