We're adding chipboard at Just Add Ink this week, courtesy of Chantell. I created a simple one layer card using the Note Cards & Envelopes (pg 194 of the SU catty).
I've had this cute little laser cut chipboard kite in my stash for years. I covered it in scrap dsp and smothered the whole thing with Crystal Effects - then didn't touch it for 24 hours! Patience is not one of my strong points, but honestly those little bows were so fiddly to cover I wasn't going to bin it and start again!
I used some die cut clouds as a template and gave my card front a good spray of copic ink using my airbrush - really need to play with that more often. Such fun! Once I had enough ink I pulled the little clouds off and popped the kite on, no dimensionals needed as the kite is thick enough being chipboard. Easy peasy.
We'd love you to join our challenge fun this week so pop over to JAI and get inspired by the design team offerings.
Thanks for stopping by this week, and as always thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment - I do love reading them.
Gosh that background looks fab - you do need to keep using that airbrush!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to cover the chipboard with dsp, it really looks fantastic :)
I'm so impressed that you didn't touch those pieces for 24 hours! I would have lasted about 2 at most, then stuck my finger in and no doubt got a lovely fingerprint worthy of CSI! Seriously, though, this is a fabulous and fun card.
ReplyDeleteLove it! You really had some fiddly bits here lol. It all came together beautifully xx
ReplyDeleteThis card is so fun Patrice! The kite is perfect against your lovely sky backdrop.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this card, it makes you smile. And this will sound funny but I think of Mary Poppins, the song lets go fly a kite....blur, blur, blur. The sky is amazing also.
