Just Add Ink #228 - Just Add a Colour Combo

Woohoo it's Friday ~

We've got a great colour combo as our new challenge over at Just Add Ink this week.  Kim chose Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow and I'm glad she did - such lovely colours together.

I pulled out my Sizzix Flower Daisies #2 die for this one and the sentiment is heat embossed.  We'd love you to join the fun, so pop over to JAI and check out the design team inspiration then link your creation up!

We celebrated Gorgeous Kid's 14th birthday yesterday.  I can't believe how quickly time passes, it seems like yesterday I was sending him off to pre-school and here he is in Year 8 at high school.  Sniff sniff.  We had a family dinner at Hogs Breath Cafe and he's having a party with his mates in a fortnight.  It would have been this weekend, however, between my being sick and his not being organised I just wasn't able to get invitations out in plenty of time. And you crafty mums know an email or text just won't do - although GK wouldn't have minded I'm sure lol!

Have a great weekend!

Just Add Ink #227 - Just Add Chipboard

Happy Friday lovely friends ~

We're adding chipboard at Just Add Ink this week, courtesy of Chantell.  I created a simple one layer card using the Note Cards & Envelopes (pg 194 of the SU catty).

I've had this cute little laser cut chipboard kite in my stash for years.  I covered it in scrap dsp and smothered the whole thing with Crystal Effects - then didn't touch it for 24 hours!  Patience is not one of my strong points, but honestly those little bows were so fiddly to cover I wasn't going to bin it and start again!

I used some die cut clouds as a template and gave my card front a good spray of copic ink using my airbrush - really need to play with that more often.  Such fun!  Once I had enough ink I pulled the little clouds off and popped the kite on, no dimensionals needed as the kite is thick enough being chipboard.  Easy peasy.

We'd love you to join our challenge fun this week so pop over to JAI and get inspired by the design team offerings.

Thanks for stopping by this week, and as always thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment - I do love reading them.

Just Add Ink #225 - Just Add a Colour Combo

Good Friday morning lovely friends ~

We have a cool Colour Combination over at Just Add Ink this week.  I chose them ... Smoky Slate, Basic Black, So Saffron and Whisper White.

Okay so I cheated a little ... I just HAD to break out my new Blendabilities and we all know there is NO So Saffron in these fabulous markers - yet!  I used Daffodil Delight instead - creative license yes?

I've been a bit under the weather the past few weeks and had to make a visit to my Doctor.  Whilst there I found out that one of the lovely admin ladies lost her dad in tragic circumstances recently.  I made this card for her.  Hope that big happy flower brightens her day a little.

So this was my first try with the blendies and I'm quite impressed with them.  Such vibrant colours!  So easy to use! The centre of my flower was created by squirting a big dollop of Crystal Effects onto my Silicone Craft Sheet, letting it dry (overnight) and colouring with an alcohol marker.  I then attached to my card with a little more CE and used my Stampin' Chalk Marker to add a few white dots.  Lots of fun!

The design team has such a great variety of projects using these colours so pop over to JAI and grab yourself some inspiration.  Hope you find the time to get creative and join us.
