JAI#111...Just Add Easter

Thank goodness it's Friday ~

I'm soooooo looking forward to a couple of days to just hang out with Gorgeous Kid. I've had a 'mare of a week.

With the bunny due next weekend it is timely for our Just Add Ink challenge to be all about Easter projects. Mine isn't too original due to lack of time this week, however, I think these punch art bunnies are super cute. You can find a load of variations in blogland.

I used my brand spanking new Fancy Favor box (part of a recent birthday gift from BFF) as the base and then an assortment of punches. Then using a dauber I inked the edges in Basic Grey. My bow is the lovely Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding - sooo easy to tie. If you'd like a list of the punches I used just shoot me an email.

Hop (pun intended) over to JAI and check out the awesome projects the design team have come up with. I look forward to checking out all your fabulous entries this week and hopefully grabbing some great ideas for my own Easter packaging.

Felt Flowers - three cards

Good Sunday morning ~

The sun is shining and I'm hoping it's going to dry my lawn out enough after the rain we had last night so that I can mow. I do love a nice neat yard, edges trimmed, grass uniform. Am I the only one with these little idiosyncracies?

Earlier this week I spotted a gorgeous CAS card that Lynn from The Mango Boys & Me had created and I knew I wanted to make my own. I ended up making four because they were so quick and easy.

Blushing Bride

Tempting Turquoise

Rich Razzleberry

I can only share three here today because one has already been given away - that one used cream felt and a lovely green button and sentiment - You're a WONDERFUL friend. I gave it to my lovely friend Susan who has been ferrying me around this week while my ankle has been out of action.

I used dies and nesties to cut my flowers, and the felt is from Felt on the Fly on Etsy. It is a fabulous quality and doesn't pill.

So what do you think? Clean and simple but effective? I must say I do like these - right up my CAS alley.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend, and thanks for stopping by today.

JAI#109...Just Add Beach

Happy Friday friends ~

I've had a pretty quiet week. I managed to miscalculate my back steps in the dark on Monday night and went down like a ton of bricks. The hospital confirmed no fracture but I managed to sprain my left ankle really well. It's been swollen and all colours of the rainbow. Not great when I drive a manual car! Anyway I'm on the mend now and rather than hobbling I only have a bit of a limp happening. The silly things we do as we age huh!

The theme at Just Add Ink this week is to add anything beachy! I've based my card on a team swap I received some years ago from Joanne Allen - not sure if Jo has a blog.

I've used a base of textured Tangerine Tango - such a bright summery colour. I hand cut a 'jandal' (I am a kiwi after all) using the gorgeous Flirtacious designer paper and some of the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight, along with a die cut from the Blossom Party Originals Die and a Flower brad. I made the invitation sentiment on my computer.

This would be a great invite to a beach party or bbq don't you think?

The design team has come up with a gorgeous lot of inspiration so pop over to JAI and check them out for yourself. I hope you can find time this week to join our Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

JAI#108...Just Add a Colour Challenge

Good Friday morning ~

So glad it's the weekend, and as it's Canberra Day on Monday we have a longer one than usual. I love Public Holidays! The weather has been pretty miserable too so hopefully I'll get a bit of extra crafting time.

Over at Just Add Ink this week Nikki has given us a Colour Challenge. Initially I thought masculine, because let's face it, most of us struggle with cards for the men in our lives. I'm not sure mine actually ended up being very manly because I filled my space with a felt butterfly and some pearls lol.

No matter, I'm sure I'll find a good use for it. I've white embossed my die cut label and popped it up on the Early Espresso Satin ribbon. My little felt butterfly is actually layered on an acetate butterfly to give a bit of height, however, it's hard to see in the pic. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me an email.

Pop over to JAI and check out our Challenge this week, you'll find lots of lovely inspiration from the other girls. Hope you find the time to join in.

Enjoy your weekend!

Just Add...Nikki Spencer #107

Good Friday morning ~

What a wet and miserable week we've had here in Canberra. More rain than we've seen in years. Perfect crafting weather I guess but I've been more inclined curl up under my heated throw rug (if you don't have one of these I highly recommend!) and put my nose in a book.

This week over at Just Add Ink we're CASEing the gorgeous and talented Nikki Spencer. CASEing a fellow design team member can be a daunting task and I have to admit to this card being my second attempt. The first was binned - mainly because I'm not one to do the vintage/distressed look often. I guess I like clean lines.

This is Nikki's original and here is my version.

I've kept the basics the same of course and added some felt flowers and leaves, embossing my bird cage before popping it up to balance my little flowers. I've used puffy paint on my bottom scallop. Hope you like - I certainly had fun making this one.

Head over to JAI to check out all the design team inspiration and then go on over to Nikki's blog and choose something to CASE for yourself and join in the Challenge fun this week.
