Colour INKspiration Challenge # 4

Happy hump evening crafty friends ~

Welcome back to a new Colour INKspiration challenge.  There is a bit of excitement over on Facebook tonight with our brand new Crew members joining us.  Go check the news out for yourself https://www.facebook.com/groups/349642308720075/

If you're following the hop you may have come from the amazingly talented Jackie Noble. I just love everything she shares with us!

I have created a very simple card this week.  I pulled out a stencil and sponged the challenge colours (graduating from dark to light bottom up) onto scrap c/s.  Then I cut that down to a panel and added it to a Thick Whisper White card base.  I die cut the sentiment three times to create some depth, and once adheared on top of each other I slathered with my Fine Tip Glue Pen to make it all glossy.  My card is finished with some purple enamel dots from my stash.  Voila, a five minute card - literally!

Below I've added the challenge inspiration and colours.  See what you can come up with and join in the fun!

If you click on the next blog image below you'll be taken to see what Rose Packer has to share with us today.

Just Add Ink #347 - Just Add a Colour Combo

Happy Friday ~

It's been an odd kind of week for me.  I had a fraxel treatment on my face on Monday (trying to undo all that tanning of the 70's & 80's) and I haven't been able to leave the house since.  Initially I was bright red, swollen and sore, then I went dark brown and had chipmunk cheeks, then a day later I got even darker and very tight, crusty and dry, and finally yesterday I started to peel and flake.  I'm looking quite mottled at the moment.  The kids have all had something to say - you need to wear a burka, mum wash the dirt off your face, why is your face black?  The end is in sight and by tomorrow all the peeling should be finished and my face will be fresh and pink.  Apparently the best results are seen a few months down the track.  I can tell you that where the skin has already peeled the new/underneath skin is sooooo soft and lovely to touch.  I bet you just love popping by to hear what's been happening for the past week/fortnight in my life lol.  Anyway onto the crafty stuff.

Kim gave us a colour combo to work with over at Just Add Ink this week - Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum and Rose Red.  All lovely colours but I had a bit of a hard time with them.

I used the Swirly Bird stamps and dies to create these little floral clusters.  I haven't used this set nearly enough, and yet I see so many gorgeous and creative uses of it.

We'd love you to join our fun colour challenge this week so pop over to JAI to check out the design team inspiration then get busy in your own craft space.  Don't forget to link up so we can visit your blog.

Next week the twins turn 5.  As we're heading off to Fiji soon after we've decided to skip the big party this year, but they are having a few friends to play at our local adventure park and will share some nibbles and cake.  I have only invited friends from four families and between us there are 15 kids lol - mostly multiples like us.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Just Add Ink #345 - Just Add a Sketch

Happy Friday crafty friends ~

It's been a big and exciting week in our house, and many others across the country I'm sure. Our summer school holidays came to an end.  The twins started kindy, in separate classes, so there was a little apprehension from one but the other was very keen to be doing her own thing.  This is the first time they've really been separated and I can happily report that five days in they are doing great.

Gorgeous Kid started college and seems to be loving it so far.  I think the most attractive thing for him is his timetable - he gets to start later and finish earlier several days a week.  He's also not restricted to school grounds and heads over to the local shops with friends during the lunch period. Lucky he earns his own money!

It's time to share a new Just Add Ink sketch challenge with you.  Narelle created this one for us and I love it.  I've used my much loved Treat Bag Thinlits to make a little birthday card that I think is suitable for a male - I find I need these on hand as Gorgeous Kid gives me next to no notice when he needs them for his mates.

Very CAS, just the way I like it

Pull up the insert and there is plenty of space to write a message

Here's another card using the same sketch. This was my first 'cut' into the delicious Cool Treats designer paper.  My photo editing has washed it out a little - but how good do all those ice creams and popsicles look?!  I love the colours in this suite.

I used the Stitched Framelit dies, silver foil, glimmer paper and some random enamel dots on both cards.  The c/s and dsp is Watermelon Wonder.  Here is the sketch if you'd like to join the challenge fun this week.  Pop over to JAI and check out the awesome inspiration from the design team, their projects are sure to get you started.

My weekend is shaping up to be nice and quiet.  The rest of the family are going camping (not my thing, particularly in this extremely hot weather with no aircon), so I get to do whatever I like - woohoo.  Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today.
