Just Add Ink #488 - Celebration Blog Hop

Happy Friday ~

Welcome to a very special post... Just Add Ink is celebrating 10 years of challenges! We've also reached over 1000 followers! Both milestones are definitely worth celebrating & that is our challenge theme this week. We appreciate you & we'd love you to share your celebration cards & projects with us.

As part of our milestone celebrations the design team are offering prizes - Yay! Check out the JAI blog for details. Prizes will include stamp sets, card kits, embossing folders, ribbons, rhinestones, handmade cards/tags....

I couldn't resist playing with the new Painted Poppies stamps & Peaceful Poppies designer paper. I stamped my poppies on Shimmery White cardstock & coloured them using a blender brush, & I coloured the leaves with a dauber due to the smaller size - super quick & easy! Fortunately I enjoy fussy cutting as I have the other set of dies in this suite.

I've left the sentiment off this card for now....when I know who I'm gifting it to I'll add a little strip of black with white embossing on it I think.

I'm the lucky last on the hop so if you click on the next button below you'll end up back at the start with, Chantell. Enjoy the hop!

Thanks for stopping past today.

    1. Thanks so much, Mary. I love how quickly I was able to 'colour' these poppies using the method I did. No need to be too careful either. x

    1. Thanks, Helen. I rather like an angled panel....because I'm so particular about everything being neat & straight normally :) x

    1. Thank you, Robyn. I was actually tossing up between a gold ribbon, & the red. Went with the red because the rest of the card used such bold colours & the gold was a bit too muted & didn't look quite right. x

  9. I love the rich colour of the poppies, and I also love the idea of leaving the sentiment off until later - such a great tip!

    1. Thanks, Shannon. Yes unless I'm creating a card with someone in mind, other than general birthday, I like to leave the sentiment off so it can be tailored :) x

  11. Lovely creation P - the blending softens the blooms, and it reminds me so much of a vine with purple flowers, that my Poppy had growing on his fence x
