Addicted to Stamps Bingo Addict Challenge #1

Good Wednesday morning lovely friends ~

There's a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps today!  This week it's a Bingo card...I chose the line Flowers, Free and Stamp.

I've used a base of Very Vanilla c/s, layering some Crumb Cake and the same two designer papers - then I sewed two rounds of 'wonky stitching' as my free choice in this challenge.  On top of the gorgeous Pumpkin Pie satin ribbon I've layered one of the Framelits, that I've stamped and sponged.  I finished my card with some little paper rosettes and a touch of bling.  To be really honest I'm still not actually sure I like this card.  I thought it might grow on me...

So why don't you join the challenge fun and choose whichever line you want to use?  Head on over to Addicted to Stamps to check out the Bingo card for yourself and see what the rest of the talented design team have provided for your inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Addicted to Stamps - Make Your Mark Challenge #1

Good Wednesday morning ~

I hope you've come back to check out the very first Addicted to Stamps challenge.  It's a very exciting day and Kylie has put a lot of effort into getting things up and running on time.  There will be a new challenge every Wednesday - for further information and details head on over to the Addicted to Stamps challenge blog for a browse.

This week is Make Your Mark - anything goes so long as you use your markers, or your preferred colouring medium on your creation.

I've coloured up a cute little Puddle Jumper image from LORi Boyd with my copics.  Look closely, there's even a little sponging!  I'm usually a bit heavy handed and end up binning what I sponge so I was just a tad excited to have this one work for me.

I've used a base of Whisper White c/s, popped a mat of Crumb Cake up on dimensionals and added some Bashful Blue and Island Indigo designer series paper, before wrapping some of the gorgeous matching ruffled ribbon around.  'Ella' has been cut with an oval nestie and popped up on dimensionals.  I finished my card off with a button and some bling.

I'm thinking this might be a good get well or feel better card (being that Ella is in her dressing gown) so I'll add the sentiment to the inside when an occasion arises.

I would so love you to support our very first Addicted to Stamps challenge this week.  Head on over to check out the design team inspiration then grab your markers, pencils, aqua pen...and have some colouring fun.  Don't forget to link up before next Wednesday.

Thanks for stopping by today.

JAI#121 - Just Add Pearls

Good morning and happy Friday ~

Wow I can't believe that this time last week I was at Convention with all my friends from Australia and New Zealand.  I got to meet many of my online friends in person for the first time and most precious of all was the time spent with some of my fellow JAI design team members - I am so blessed to be part of such a beautiful bunch of women.  A few couldn't make it, and we missed them a lot...but there is always Brisbane next year...hopefully we'll all make it up to sunny Queensland.

Another highlight for me was having my beautiful BFF here in Canberra.  We had early mornings and late nights and lots of giggles in between.  We've got some pics and when they're sorted I promise to share.

This week at Just Add Ink we're adding pearls.  As you can see I've used lots of them *smile*.

A few things going on with this card...I lattice embossed a square of vellum and layered that onto my Real Red c/s. The 'cup' has been through my crimper, the cake edges have been inked with a dauber and my cherry is cut from Glitter paper and then I hit it heavily with Crystal Effects.  Nice and glossy and edible irl. The whole cupcake has been popped up on dimensionals.

I found it hard to photograph this one, the colours look bland and washed out here and I now notice my ribbon has dropped a little - best I fix that up.

Take a look at all the other lovely design team inspiration and join the Challenge with us.  We love looking through your entries.

Today is also Delys' birthday, so a super big happy birthday to you!  Hope you have a wonderful day and get spoilt rotten by all.

JAI#119 - Just Add a Sketch

TGIF ~

Phew I've been looking forward to today for about two weeks now.  Work has been busy, home life has been busy, and I'm hoping this weekend is going to be catch up time for slowing down and chilling out.  It started raining here in Canberra yesterday so that's always a sign for a quieter weekend...well in our house at least.

Over at Just Add Ink this week we have a sketch for you.  When I first saw the sketch I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, so put it aside for a few weeks.  One night I was pottering in my craft room without thought and ended up making this card in next to no time - must have just been in the mood.

I've used a base of Early Espresso and layered Very Vanilla c/s on top with a couple of strips of designer paper (love that Lime Twist from MME) that I've stitched on my sewing machine.  If you look closely you can see that I've added a VV punched layer too, before 'popping' up a circle Nestie and the lovely flower image from Bordering on Romance - my latest stamp set.  I coloured with copics (that I tried to match to my dsp), gave a little spray of Champagne Shimmer Mist and finished with Pearls.  The flower image was stamped twice, with the 'pink blooms' fussy cut and 'popped' up on dimensionals.

I love that the Design Team have come up with a great variety of ideas using the same sketch.  Pop over to JAI and grab a little inspiration for yourself and join the Challenge fun.  I look forward to seeing all your entries.

Thanks for stopping by today, and as always I really do appreciate your kind comments.  Have a fabulous weekend!

PS:  Less than a week until Convention woohoo!

JAI#117...Just Add a Colour Challenge

Happy Friday lovely friends ~

It's been a bit of a busy time here lately with visiting the various high school open nights.  I can't believe my Gorgeous Kid is off to a new BIGGER school next year...he's just so little compared to so many of the other Year 6 kids I've been seeing.  The big decision needs to be made soon.  Not easy...

This week over at Just Add Ink we have a lovely colour combo and rather than fiddle for ages I went straight to CAS, in fact I don't think you could get any more clean and simple than this one.

I used the Floral Fusion Sizzlit Die to cut my flowers in Daffodil Delight and layered some So Saffron flowers on top securing them with the cute Mini Brads.  Each flower is popped up on a dimensional and lightly sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Mist.  Sometimes less is more...in my opinion at least lol.

Pop over to JAI and check out our Colour Challenge this week.  The design team has some gorgeous inspiration to get you started.  Hope to see your entries linked up this week.

JAI#115...Just Add a Sketch

Good Friday morning ~

Goodness it's been a longer absence here than I intended.  Life tends to get in the way from time to time and of course one of the first things to suffer is the fun stuff!  We've been on school holidays in the ACT and that's always a busy and fun time.  Picked up a shiny new iPad a couple of weeks ago too so I've been hooked on Draw Something ever since *smile*.  I'm really not that good at it but it's soooo much fun!

Over at Just Add Ink this week Mae has given us a sketch challenge.  I haven't been feeling very crafty lately so I knocked out a couple of lame cards earlier in the week in the hope the mojo would return in time for JAI.  I'll let you be the judge.

I busted out my yummy Lime Twist papers and some Rich Razzleberry for this one.  You can't see it in the pic but there is some lovely shimmer around the little felt roses.

Pop on over to JAI and check out the gorgeous design team inspiration.  I hope to see lots of gorgeous entries in our challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Remaining Contents of Gift Package

Hello ~

It's turned a little chilly here in Canberra this afternoon. Once the sun starts going down you can really feel Autumn is here. Time to dig out my socks and slippers.

I'm just popping in quickly to show you the remaining cards from this post. I forgot to mention that the Crumb Cake layer on each of the cards has been stamped with Versamark using the (retired) Linen BG stamp.

Cherry Cobbler

Daffodil Delight with a Tangerine Tango sentiment (because DD didn't show up so well on the linen background)

Not Quite Navy

So there you go, all six cards from my gift package. Hope you like. Thanks for popping by today and as always thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such lovely comments - they really do make my day!

Some of the Contents

Happy Easter Monday dear friends ~

We're back from our little beach break away! What fun we had...swimming in the ocean, walks to the lake with the dog, jet skiing at Callala Bay, dinner with friends and the highlight for me...visiting the fabulous little spot that is Jindyandy. Oh my goodness there are some terrific finds...antique furniture, toys, a lolly shop and best of all...a huge well stocked craft store. I spent several hours there over the course of two days and managed to pick up a few new bits and pieces.

I did promise I'd show you the contents of my little gift package posted here. I made six cards in all, three birthday and three thanks. I'll come back tomorrow to show you the thank you cards.

Basic Black

Rich Razzleberry

Old Olive

As you can see the cards are all the same but for the colour. Base is Black, Vanilla and Crumb Cake mats popped up with Dimensionals and the wide Striped Grosgrain Ribbon threaded behind. I've layered up the flower from Creative Elements and topped each with a pearl (hard to see in these pics) and a little spritz of Champagne Shimmer Mist. The insides were finished with a Vanilla mat and the flower image.

I hope you've all had a wonderful long weekend and indulged in plenty of sweet treats. It's the only time of the year we can really get away with a chocolate breakfast, and we did just that! Such fun.

Back tomorrow!
